John and Sharon Borer Letter to the editor

I guess when people get as sick as John and I have been the last week, they start thinking about what is important to them and has meant a lot after they get to feeling better and are on the mend. First of all, we got a case of this terrible stuff that is going around, probably have not been this sick in at least a decade. Got to experience firsthand this Broadwater Health Center facility thaqt has been in the works for a while. Normally, we bypass Townsend and go for the big city.

BHC Announces Board Changes

Townsend Health Systems (Broadwater Health Center) would like to announce the following changes to the Board of Trustees.

Bill Hubber recently resigned from the Board to pursue other interests. The Board would like to thank Bill for his dedicated service and for having led the Board as their chairman for the last four years. He was a steady force providing sage advice with many of the operational decisions of the Board.

BHC Nursing lifts the flu precaution ban on visitors to the Nursing Home

Broadwater Health Center is still on flu precautions for the Nursing Home but are now allowing visitors. BHC asks that all visitors wear a mask and sanitize when entering and leaving the facility.

BHC Auxilliary Starts a New Year - Board Annual Meeting 10/26/2016

The BHC Auxilliary had a banner year with its fundraising. We ended in Oct. with a $21,000 balance and allocated $4,600 toward remodeling one of the nursing home rooms. That included a $3,000 grant from Montana Community Foundation. The Auxilliary also allocated $5,000 toward new signage.

Administrator Kyle Hopstad and board member Bill Upthegrove shared a year-end update with the city council at the regular city council meeting.

Because the council supported the CT scanner project in 2013 by backing the interim loan which was paid off in 6 months, status of utilization was reported.

DOT Physicals Available

BHC will be offering DOT Physicals this month on Januay 20, 2016 and January 21,2016.

BHC Clinic and Business Off will be closed on Thanksgiving Day

The Broadwater Health Center Wellness Clinic and the Business Office will be closed on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 24).

BHC Collecting food for the Food Pantry

Broadwater Health Center will be collecting food for the Food Pantry during the holiday season.  If you would like to help those in need during this holiday season there will be boxes at the entry ways to collect food items.

Please give generously!!

2016 Evacuation Training

Once a year BHC is required to do a physical emergency training. This year the team practiced evacuating patients due to a gas leak. The team transported 3 mock patients down the street, about a block, to the Methodist Church.
