BHC Auxilliary Annual Leprechaun Festival

Auxiliary members nailed it again:  The Leprechaun Festival held March 11 at the school fed and entertained over 100 persons, according to Nancy Marks and Marcia Bieber, co chairs of the event.  .

Joan and Tom Eliel, and  Robin Williams Folkvord crooned Irish ballads, and played Irish jigs, much to the delight of the senior citizens sitting in the front row.  Crowd members snapped up Silent Auction items such as antiques, paintings, licorice carmels, food smoker and a metal sculpture coat hanger.

A highlight of the afternoon was a dance performance by Premiere Dance Company from the Creative Arts Center of Helena.  Director Charleen White encouraged all young boys and girls to “give ballet a try”.  Nancy Marks explained the Fun For Life Program, a nonprofit organization, has scholarships available for those students who would be interested in participating in the dance program.

Ms. Julie Gemar of Helena won the 2 night trip to Fairmont Hotsprings raffle.  The package included additional spending money for dinner in the Fairmont Restaurant, for items in the gift shop or for use in the lounge.   The Marion Iverson antique quilt is an ongoing raffle until Fall Fest October 1, when the winner will be announced.

The chairpersons would like to thank all who participated in the fundraising event.  All proceeds will go to purchasing equipment for the nursing home and hospital.
