Submitted by vsample on Sun, 01/19/2020 - 09:29
BROADWATER HEALTH CENTER AUXILIARY
January 14, 2020
The meeting was called to order by Nancy Marks. There were eleven persons in attendance. Minutes from the December meeting were read and approved. The treasurer's report showed a balance of $9,401.08. Jan Hubber asked if we could have a motion to pay the additional $5,000 to the hospital that we pledged last spring. A motion was made by Jeanne Randolph and seconded by Kathy Toombs. The motion passed.
Randy Anderson, interim CEO, reported on the progress being made at the hospital. Every employee is getting a new computer this week. They all have new email addresses ending in @billingsclinic.org. There are many IT people working in the hospital this week installing the computers, upgrading security, and wiring. There are several jobs that need to be filled: RNAs, dietary, and housekeeping. He reported that there are 22 residents in long-term care and two in swing beds. A new doctor will be joining the clinic on February 18. There are several doctors from the Billings Clinic that are seeing patients in the clinic on a rotating basis, and a pediatrician and an OB/GYN that come to Townsend on scheduled days.
Leprechaun Festival Reports: Jane Slyker's husband is being treated for cancer and she has resigned the chairmanship so that she can concentrate on him. She has done a wonderful job getting things set up and we will continue on without her leadership. Jane and Nancy contacted seven businesses in Helena in December and are waiting for some checks to arrive. Power Townsend donated to the silent auction, Kellie McBride has letters asking for donations to the silent auction that she will deliver to her contacts in Helena. Many local businesses have already been contacted and have agreed to donate to the silent auction.
We settled on Fairmont Hot Springs for the raffle item. We will offer a two-night package. Jan will follow up on this. Nancy will talk to Jen Lane about using her tablecloths. Several people agreed to bring salads and I will send an email to all members asking for their help. It was decided that we need 25 salads and will ask Wheat Montana for 10 dozen rolls. The price will remain at $10, children under five are free and ages 6-12 will be $5.
Nancy will borrow orange cones to designate no parking so that buses from the assisted living centers can drop off their people at the door. Eliels will provide music. Nancy will put up posters and Kathy Toombs will arrange for advertising on local electronic signs and reader boards. Shienne and Alex will manage facebook advertising. Meat/cheese trays will be ordered from Full Belli Deli this year. Kathy T will order buns and Alex will pick them up.
The next meeting is February 11, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. The meeting was adjourned at 1:50.
